They are making a real life movie of Mulan, except they are changing the story from an Chinese girl who acts as a boy to save her father from going off to war to the main character is now a white male European sailor who saved the young heroine and conquered her heart.
There are a bunch of potestors who use the hashtag #makemulanright
Because they think it will whitewash the Asian culture and how a prominent male lead would take the focus away from China's legendary female warrior.

Okay, if they make it that way, that's not even Mulan. I get trying to give a traditional story a little bit of a new spin, but seriously, that's just going too far. It's interesting that everyone is upset about the racial aspect of it, but to me, it's equally bad that it would rewrite things to have the boy rescue the girl instead of showing the girl as a strong warrior. But, this is the same company that made Pocahontas, so my expectations aren't really all that high. ;)
