Simulation prep

That was a lot of fun! I've got to admit, though, if there's any more running around to do I'm just going to let you guys do it.

Up to this point we've looked at the principles of freedom (faith, morality, natural law, education, and balanced government) and talked about some of the things that kill freedom (tyranny and anarchy). This week we are putting it all together.  There are many different forms of government that allow freedom but all require that we live the principles we've talked about and to stay balanced. Your preparation for the simulation will be to read about another free government, propose your own style of free government, and learn about the responsibilities we have as citizens (keeping it balanced). You will also talk with each other on the blog about how we can be active citizens.  Then next week, we'll put it into practice.

Write:
What does it mean to be an "active citizen"?
Describe the government that Mosiah set up.  How did it function?
Propose a government that is different from ours, but still balanced and based on freedom principles.

How are we each personally responsible for our society?  We are much more effective together, so how can we actively engage with others?  How can we respect others and the decision process when working on tough issues? Drugs, abortion, porn etc?
