A zoo in Indonesia, known as the Bandung Zoo, is being accused of starving their Sun Bears. Earlier, there was a video released of one of the bears eating its own feces, which is apparently a fairly common activity for bored bears. Recently there is a video of the sun bears standing, begging for food from the spectators. As they stand, you can see all of their ribs. This particular zoo is known for the neglect and possible abuse of an elephant that died last year which was found with bruises over its body. It was previously in shackles along with all of the zoo's other elephants. Their deer also have a particularly bad skin disease and appear to be malnourished. A few years ago, the zoo had 50 animal deaths within 3 months.

Because it takes SO MUCH EFFORT to pick up a bucket of food, and then you actually have to CARRY it ALL THE WAY to the bears. This kind of thing wears you out, you know?
ReplyDeleteOK, in all seriousness, who on earth would support this zoo? Going to the zoo makes sense, it's a new way to practice smuggling food to the needy, But why are they still in business?
