America was made so that we could have religious freedom
When America was founded, the founding fathers wanted everyone to have religious freedom. It was the whole reason the even founded the country. If we take away religious freedom, other freedoms will eventually be taken away as well. While freedom of religion does mean that everyone can choose their religion, it also means that you can choose not to have a religion. You are not forced to worship a certain way or go to church. You can choose to use the time it takes to go to church, and do something else with that time. Other countries don't have that right, they have to follow the religion of their country on pain of death. They have to go to church, dedicate land, or do anything else the religion requires. Having religious freedom means that you will not be forced to follow any religion or even have a religion. Having religious freedom means that you will not be persecuted for your beliefs. The founding fathers left England because they were being persecuted, they did not want people in their land to be persecuted, no matter what they believe. They worked and fought hard for their, and our, religious freedom and even if we wanted to, I don't believe that we have any right to change the laws they created.

Great post, Jordan. Religious freedom was definitely one of the reasons the revolutionary war began. I definitely agree that freedom of religion applies to everybody. I disagree that we should not change any of the laws the founding fathers created, however. Certainly we should not abolish the first amendment which allows religious freedom, but some parts of the Constitution were meant to be changed, which is why the founding fathers made a way to alter it. What parts of the Constitution do you think we need to leave alone?
