Typhoon Megi didn't just affect Taiwan—it caused a lot of damage to China. An eastern province, Zhejiang, had it particularly bad, and there are at least 33 people missing. The typhoon also has wiped out many homes and forced people to evacuate. Another province, Fuijan, was not so lucky and they have confirmed one death so far. Millions of buildings, including many homes, have no power. They have reported just under 12 inches of rain from only two days.

Makes you glad that a tiny tornado is big news around here, huh? Many other countries have particular difficulties with situations like this because their buildings are not constructed as strongly as those in the US. And then they get storms like this more often than we generally do, so it can be a big problem.
