This makes me want to watch "Seize the Day" from Newsies

Today was a lot of fun!  I loved learning more about each of your learning styles.

On January 9 we will be learning about the last principle of freedom we are covering in this class:  liberty.  I can't stop singing Seize the Day from Newsies because it's all about different groups pulling on each other to keep things in balance. In preparation, please do the following:

Watch and take notes:
Checks and Balances in the Constitution by Jeff Hymas

Read:
Federalist 51  We will be taking this apart in class, but take the time to read it enough to have a basic understanding coming into class.

Post:
1.  Something you learned from the video. Do you love or hate what was said?
2.  What did you learn about the roles of each branch and level of the government?

Prepare:
Tabitha, Miriam and Avonlea, create a presentation to show checks and balances in things besides government. (Think: body temperature, families, sports, etc.)
