A few weeks ago I wrote about the war between the Muslims in Burma and the Burmese military. However, as it turns out, Burma's government doesn't seem to be closed off to the idea of being enemies with any group of people. On December 3rd a Catholic church in the Northern Shan State was hit by airstrikes sent by the Burmese government. They were intended to threaten the "Northern Alliance", a group consisting of 4 ethnic groups. Most of the members and leaders had already fled to China, so nobody was hurt. Christian Solidarity Worldwide states that since the ceasefire in 2011, more than 60 Christian churches have been destroyed. Many of the civilians in northern Burma are fleeing to China, which has caused China to place more of their military on their border, leaving thousands taking refuge in a border city.
