Spoiler alert: do not read if you are planning to watch the TV drama "This is Us"
This is Us is a fictional drama constantly increasing in popularity. This show is unique in that it shows two timelines of the same family: one in the three childrens' childhood, and one in their mid adult years. Watchers notice partway through the show that the father, Jack, does not appear in the later timeline. They later find out this is because he passed away in the earlier timeline. In one of the most recent episodes, the show revealed how he died. It was super bowl Sunday, and he is seen cleaning up the food from the kitchen after a long day. He turns off their slow cooker (there is no brand name on this slow cooker), but after he leaves, the slow cooker malfunctions and starts a fire. After watching this episode, many people called to boycott crock pot. Again, the slow cooker had no brand name on it. One Facebook user posted, "Jack is dead because of a faulty crockpot. Shame on you! I hope his family sues! I'll definitely be warning my friends and family."

DeleteWow! Some people need to do a little reality check. First, fictional story. Second, slow cookers come in many brands, so do a little research on the safety of each brand if you're nervous. Third, slow cookers are much safer now than they were 20-30 years ago or whenever that is supposed to have happened. Fourth, did I mention THIS DIDN'T ACTUALLY HAPPEN?
