I thought this was interesting because we've been talking about genes in biology. Huntington's disease one of the things we mentioned.
Huntington's disease is passed on by certain genes. You have a 50% chance of getting Huntington's disease if one of your parents has the disease.
In this test it shows a way that could possibly one day cure it! This is exciting, especially to the people who have this disease. The way it works, is they inject the drug into the spinal fluid and it tries to convert the genes into proteins and stop more production of the proteins. It sounds a little iffy to me, because they're changing the genes. But on the other hand we could be using medicine's like this to cure none fatal illness and we don't even realize. Maybe it's not bad because we're helping people stay alive to influence the world (Hopefully for good).

This is amazing. I can see that this could lead to cures for all kinds of diseases as scientists learn to use this in new ways. On the other hand, as you note, this is messing with genetic material, and that comes with ethical questions. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, but one thing I've realized over the years is that we shouldn't be afraid of scientific progress like this. Heavenly Father uses natural laws to accomplish His work, so we should view this in that light.
