House Speaker Paul Ryan announced that he is not going to run for re-election. He stated that this is for his family, saying he was always reluctant to accept this position and he doesn't want his children to know him as "only a weekend dad". However, media doubts him, saying that his retirement is either due to the fact that 1) he and Donald Trump do not get along very well or 2) the Republicans do not stand a very good chance at the upcoming mid terms.

I have to say I admire him for deciding to put his family first--even if it's because he doesn't like working with Trump. :)
